So with retirement and the loss of my wife, who had impeccable taste in clothes, I have lots of time to enjoy movies and read (and comment on) your wonderful articles. I always carefully check the credits for any movie, especially who did the costumes -- for example, Adrian or Edith Head. I learned to appreciate clothing style from my wife and notice "little things" in movies. How James Mason's suit coats in East Side West Side were ill-fitting (baggy) or that Jimmy Stewart's sports coats in Vertigo fit him perfectly, like a glove (Edith Head I think). In one scene in Hope and Glory, a dressed-up Sarah Miles is wearing spectator pumps, and In Woman On The Beach, a barefoot Joan Bennett has a pedicure to match her manicure. I'm either blessed or cursed to notice these things -- but, hey, it keeps me involved in the movie. Are you getting anything else done? You are obviously quite the knowledgeable movie fan yourself. So glad to have you on board. Thanks, too, for all the comments.TheMovieManhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00291067058543959452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5418979190677776339.post-39655703961669177872019-12-03T18:49:30.434-05:002019-12-03T18:49:30.434-05:00Thanks for the article on Sarah Miles. The last film I have seen her in is Hope and Glory which I enjoyed immensely. She was always so believable, a truly gifted actress. CraigAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
